Question Want to add a subwoofer to my 2002 E430

Hi Folks,
First let me say Thanks So Much for the info you people provide!!

Next, I would like to add a subwoofer to my 2002 E430 stock Bose COMAND based system. Does anyone have any suggestions for an installation like this?

Pictures would be even better.

I'm most interested in the connection of the sub-amp to the stock system.

Thanks in advance.

Ya, I'm pretty sure. I bought my E430 used and it had had some aftermarket stuff put in it and then removed.

I guess I have nothing to compare it to but I will say that on the rear deck, there are 2 speakers and next to each speaker there is about a 5in. hole. (room for 2 more speakers?)

Is this normal? Anyone?

Too bad that your original Bose system isnt in tact ,,my 2001 430 has the Bose , wow , I coulnt ask for anything that sounds that good froma factory installed unit. It has 2 subs in the back shelf that kick butt for responsivness. Good luck with retro fitting the car. Remember , sound is subjective , tho, make sure that it sounds good to YOU , not to the technitians at the stereo store!!, ha, ha

wow - are you guys serious about liking your stock system? i must have a few wires crossed or something, because my bose system sounds average at best - for maybe a Kia or something.... from my understanding, there are impedance issues with adding speakers, but if you do a search on this forum you will see the countless discussions of the topic. seems like most people overhaul instead of adding, but that's a lotta dough

I have '00 Bose with Command and sub in the trunk (stock one) - sounds really good for the stock installation, imho.
