A/c Problem
part replaced was 210-830-07-72, with a description of "temperature" and a cost of 44.50 for parts and 218 for labor. freon was not the problem with mine, just that part. same as yours, i would drive for a few miles and it would revert to warm. stop, park, and after restart, A/C would function okay for a few mins....emits warm/ambient temperature again.
aftermarket warranty took care of the cost for that that and other misc items, minus a $50 deductable.

The W210s have a Evap temp sensor that Fails and Will cause the problem you have..Done several..Very easy to do!

Which aftermarket warranty did you go with? My StarMark just expired and I'm thinking of getting one.
The one I have is through an outfit called AFI Management Company, Inc,
dba American Mercuty Warranty Services. Plat coverage. I didn't research this, rather, accepted that which was offered through my city credit union... who has good track record of looking into such member services first.
I used them twice and both times were problem free, totaling over $1k (a/c,
lights not synched to function, weeping cable something to tranny, something in the dash (forget what). The dealer wrench said that initially, the reviewer was a little snotty and after he 'put him in his place' it was quite smooth in confirming coverage and concluded.
My guess is that at some point there is an incorrect reading given to the Temp Command Console and it opens the vent door to take on some outside air. I have tried the recirculation button and it seemed to function, obviously, that is more of a band-aid than a cure.
Somewhere I read that this problem might be related to the emmissions and maybe even the Mass Air Sensor, but I cannot located that thread now.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts, opinions, and experiences.
