Does anyone know if Ray Catena, in Union, NJ, is a reputable dealer to have car serviced? Harmonic balancer issue , needs to be replaced under recall. is it a easy thing, can they be trusted with it,

I had a slight experience with one of their dealers there, but never had to use their service personnel. When I bought the car,he was trying to tell me that I could not get the xenon headlights with the S.E. package, and that whoever said that I could was taking me for a ride.Well,I did get what I wanted from another(Soveriegn) dealer in Bklyn, for a better price.Kind of strange that one MB dealer would try to badmouth another for a sale.
I have heard many good things about Catena though, and I would expect them to do a competent job.

so should i bring it to the dealer for the recall, or my local shop, im not sure if i should trust the dealer. also dealer said its certain harmonic balancers, with certain serial numbers on them, not all of them. not the vin numbers, but numbers on the balancer itself

I would wait until the official written letter comes to you,,or contact the dealer that you intend to use. Then, make a choice as to who works on it.I believe you can trust the dealer for the job, which ever dealer you choose, but I have had my car scratched, wheels marred, interior dirtyed up by the dealer for simple services. So with a bigger job,all you can do is ask they take care of the car and return it no worse.

I've been to Ray C. for service, after a bad experience with Benzel Bush in Englewood.

Ray C. is fair and honest. Go 4 it.
