How reliable over 100K?
Hey guys, here's the story:
I'm in high school right now, and soon looking for a first car (Yay!)
How reliable is the E over 100K miles? Is it relatively good in snow as well?
Any other cars I should be looking at?

I can't say cuz I only have a shy of 100k miles on it, right now it's 99,650 miles on the clock, I haven't had any issues. It many variables to reliablity stand point. You have to consider the following, is the car maintained well,condition of the car, how many owner there were, how it's being driven, who you're buying from i.e owner, private dealer or MB dealer. Any exisiting problem that needs to be repaired. So you have to look at all those fact before determing the odds of reliablity. My car is pretty reliable since I bought it from private dealer with 86k miles on it.

Young man I have been where you are now. After over 20+ German cars please just go get yourself a Cobalt or Mazda 3 or something. You probably know Benz's are lovely cars but the up keep after 100K and no warranty is no joke. Plus it is not uncommon to have to have the tranny done after 100K so just be careful before you make your decision. Good luck to you no matter your choice.

It really depends on how much money you want to set aside for unexpected expenses.
My cars has 161,000 miles on it now and it is a good car but I know that there can be unexpected expenses for it. If something goes wrong, these cars are expensive to maintain. I have been averaging about $1000 per year on maintnenance but it could be more if the car that you are gonna buy needs more work. Parts and Labor more expensive than your typical cars.
Also, if you get the modding bug, your gonna end up spending $5000 + on rims, tires, body kits, suspension, light retrofit, stereo system, etc.
Bottom line is, is it worth it all? For me yes.
