Diagnosis
CEL will be something to do with emission, problem is, where?
You may want to call around to some local part stores before taking it back to the Stealership. Many places have the equipment for reading the error code so you can determine the origin of the problem. I have taken mine to Autozone in the past -- no charge.
Good luck.

It could be something as simple as a loose gas cap.
You might want to tighten that. Also if this seal is old, you may need to get a new cap.

Just today, (Tues 5-3) my check engine light came on on a trip across the mountains in Washington State going towards the Seattle area. After about 60 more miles of driving and three stops and engine restarts along the way, the CEL stayed off and did not come back on in the last 100 mile leg of my trip.
I was going to get right on here and ask about what could have caused it, but I probably need to go somewhere that the codes can be read or something. I looked at the engine temp all the way while the light was on and it seemed normal. First stop, I checked the coolant level - fine, oil level - fine, and did not notice any poor running condition.
Hope all is well with it and it was a fluke. I'll look at the gas cap. Car has 93K miles.

One more thing about the gas cap is that you usually can't see any damage or deformity visually.
The rubber seal usually just gets compressed over time and is hard to visually see any damage.
Might want to get a new cap.
It's pretty cheap.
