Side Mirror Cover Fitment

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the side mirrors of a '96 and a '97 W210? According to this site, they are NOT the same... Is this true?

I think I've seen these on some '96s in here.
OR if anyone know where I can get one from please post site OR name of business.

cheers!

They will fit a 96. A lot of sites do not post the correct years that the W210 was produced. 96 to 99 have the same mirror covers.

They will also fit the W202 C-Class.

Cool How lights on cover works ?

These mirror cover has lights on it. How this work? On my 97 E420 I don't see any special wiring for turn light on side mirror.

Is it difficult to do this new wiring ? I hate to get "Lamp fault" Warning on instrument panel.

Any feed back will be appreciated.

Few people have done it in here. You have to tap into the turn signal wire going to the rear signals. Our cars are not prewired for this mod.

cheers!

You have to take the inner door panel off and run one wire to ground and the other one down to the turn signal wire for the rear blinker on each side. The signal wires are in the wire tray under the door sills on both sides so they are accessable. Do a search for Blinker Mirrors to learn more about it.

I have not heard of anyone getting a lamp fault by adding these but I guess if you cut the wire to the tail light and leave it open, you will.
