need help
a friend of mine just got a 1990 420 sel and he's asking me what motor oil to use (synthetic or petrolium) and what weight ,the car has 100k miles on it ,so i'm asking anyone to help out please.thank you

Either synthetic or dino oil will work fine. Synthetic isn't a good idea if it burns or leaks any oil. I used to run Shell Rotella T 15W-40 in my Mercedes with the M116 V8. It's really good oil & is available for cheap at Sam's Club or BJ's. Comes in 1 gal containers. It's a heavy-duty oil primarily intended for diesels, so it far exceeds the SL-grade requirement for gasoline engines.
