Has anyone found an alternate dealer for the HID spot light other than Costco or the Ebay stealers?
I am in Sacramento, CA, I went to 2 Costco locations, the only large spot light had an H-4 halogen bulb. Still a good deal at about $25 for a big portable light, but not good for this application.
At Costco, I looked near the automotive items, other smaller flashlights were grouped near this big one. Am I looking in the right place at Costco?
Thanks,

i inquired at the local costco... they are an inactive/discontinued item... not much demand for them, or its just a test item for a few stores... if they have stock, then they do... otherwise, you outta luck... its either a go or no go situation... they won't be ordering more if they don't have any...

Thanks for the Costco info. Some items just go that way. I was hoping that someone found a small web source that sold imported items such as these lights. The one's on eBay are okay, but the price with shipping approaches the cost of a cheapie HID kit, defeating the purpose of experimenting.

BTW, as an update to all... if you haven't gotten your Xenon spot lights from costco, you've already missed the boat... ALL xenon spot lights have been pulled off the shelf from ALL costco's as of THIS MORNING....
It was a test product, and was a one shot deal... they won't be ordering anymore

you are right... most of the costco's took it off the shelf... i don't think they will stay on the shelves for long even if they did have some...

So...Does Anyone have these Spotlights??
I get frustrated when Costco discontinues things I like -- especially if It's before I can score on them.
Is it possible to figure out who made the spotlight?
There must be someone here selling them -- even if it's a few dollars more
Can someone lucky enough to have nabbed some of these share the details?
Mike

Where else for HID H7's?
The neat thing about the Costco spotlights is the package has an H7 HID bulb with a nice, compact ballast that is well sealed.
Buying a HID kit on ebay means changing out the entire headlight assembly to take the OEM HID bulbs right? Are they "DB2's"?
I wonder if the manufacturer is worth calling ( or probably importer) and asking where they are retailed.
They might cut a deal if a bunch of us want to step up to the plate.
Alternatively, Costco might want to be helpful if we spec out the order size, i.e. a one-shot deal for 25 of them, or ?

Ill contact costco tomorrow. Im pretty sure we can have more then 25 orders if I post a group buy on the classified sections. Plus other forums as well. Give you peeps a heads up. I already know 3 other friends who would take it and buy it.

a friend of mine works at a costco, and he spoke with the store's buyer, and they said, the lights are made in China and imported. He then asked the buyer to call the Mfr to see if there are other US distributors/resellers... but, alas, the contact number to the Mfr was disconnected...
So.... not all too sure what that means? Out of business???

Need Costco in WA
Well, I'm sure the local stores aren't going to be a big help.
I think Costco HQ in the Seattle area can probably help us pull something off.
That sale on ebay doesn't seem to be ZAM2000's style. He has a little more class, probably would come and offer them here to us first ( I would hope)
Hey I checked the Costco stores in the Ventura County area and no dice. If the Montclair store has a small quantity -- perhaps someone can help there??

Trek to Montclair or Costa Mesa ?
Well, these locations are definitely SoCal. Only about 125 or so miles. It's at least a week until I have the bandwidth to pull this off, and I figure I'm not the only one.
Maybe someone wants a few extra $$ for their trouble (better than giving it to Chevron Oil) and want a couple for themselves or to sell to other forum dwellers.
I was also concerned that by next week Costco will figure out something unhelpful to do with the spare units.

Well, the only other option is the fact that the H7 bulb kits with ballasts are now start around $200.00 with shipping. The quality of the ballasts and bulbs are probably equal to the ones pulled out the big flashlights. But with the flashlights, you still have a pair of lead acid batteries to tinker with.
All said, it is probably better to spend a few more bucks (a lot more) and find real Xenon housings with bulbs and ballasts.
