metalic flake?

hey guys, im about to take my car to the body shop to get it painted with my new kit. my car is black and i was thinking about haveing some flake put in with the paint. what do you guys think about that idea?

Does the rest of the car have metallic paint? If it doesnt then dont do it. The car will look like ****.

Oh then as long as it is a quality job and I mean very very well done, go ahead with the metallic flakes. Make sure the painter goes puts 2 coats of metallic paint, and 2 coats of clearcoat.

In general, I think metallic flake looks awesome. My favorite car color is Jaguar's Sapphire Blue (metallic). For a black car though, I probably wouldn't do flake just because I like my black cars to reflect like a mirror. It's really a matter of personal preference.

The issue I have with changing the color / metalic paint on the car is the areas that are difficult to paint won't look right. How will they paint the door jams, the area under the hood? If those areas are not repainted, they will look different than the exterior of the car. If that doesn't make a difference to you, then go for it.

Im a big fan of metallic paint,,it shines far better in all lighting conditions,looks cleaner when dirty.Go for it.
