Odometer will not turn off
Assuming that your door switch is working, whenever there are strange electrical gremlins about I usually try disconnecting the battery for a short period, then reconnecting it. Of course you have to go through all of the resets and stuff, but it's worth a shot. If you've already tried that...hmmm.
You might try posting up in the tech forum as well. I don't think this is a common thing, but it might be seen there more easily.

startup disk or registry which is non volatile. So in effect, the disconnect
becomes more like a reformatting of one's hard drive and some settings which
are reliant upon power vanish and a trip to the dealer is needed. Am I wrong
here?
