bas light, mb dealers want to change parts, hit and miss atitude

the saga goes on.
Had a sevice they tell me my brake switch is faulty..
ordered part ,,took car back again to fit
car back but switch still reads fault on there workshop computer
They tell me dont worry if its not on your dash we will ignor it.
Next week the misses drives out off garage and turns steering whell and slams on the breaks thinking she might hit my old bus (hilux 86). Then my BAS light comes on..
HAd all the experts look over the benz and they dont no whats wrong with it.
Out of warranty and they want to change all the parts that it may relate too,
at my cost..
anyone with some good advise please.

Did they reset the computer?

OK, also hit and miss advice but cheap......It may still be a faulty part but the last time it happened to me, instead of replacing the brake switch, my mech reset the computer and all was fine.....no more BAS light in the last 3 years...touch wood.

I had the same problem on my car BAS/ABS/ESP lights were on, the dealer replaced the stop lamp switch. Do a search on the forum several people had the same issue.
