Squeaky left front suspension
Just thought I'd ask before the car ('98 E3204M Wagon, 71k mi) goes in next week to formally check it out so here goes:
After my car has sat for a few hours, the driver's front suspension has a faint, but audible squeak over bumps (backing out of driveway, etc) and uneven pavement. It goes away after a few minutes of driving, as though there's an oiled busing or something that takes a few miles to get lubricated.
I have had the "coil spring sealing recall" thing done last year and have not had any problems/noises up till now. It happened about a week after I did a 1 day driver's school with it where it was driven mildly aggressive, as it still has the bone stock suspension, but 17" '04 E500 5-spokes with 235-45-ZR17 tires.
The car drives/steers fine and I sense no looseness and hear no "clunking", which seems to be somewhat common. I jacked it up and pushed/pulled on all the suspension and drivetrain and nothing appears to be loose, no torn boots, etc.
Anyone run into this before or have any ideas?
