E240 (A) Steering Column Adjustment

I just bought a E240 (A) and i have searched through the manual and the whole car but didn't find any button to adjust the steering column (not automatically adjustable) height. Can anyone tell me how to manually adjust it? thanks.

I'm nor farmiliar with the E240. However, for manual adjust of other MB's, there is a lever on the left side and under the steering wheel.

Oh, Tang1, unfortunately I can't post a picture. It's so simple to find that if you can't see it, then it's not there!!! I don't have that option on my E430, so I can't post pics either. Are you in the US??. If yes call the MB toll free number. If not, use the SOS button to contact MB. Anothe thing you can do is this 1) Post your question in the Technical Forum section of this board 2) Post in MBNZ.org (lot more people there who can help). I'll call MB and find out for you also. Tell me more about the E240 (year, options installed, country, etc).

Darkmann,
i am from Malaysia and the car is yr 2000 (elegance) and imported from Germany (check at http://www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/pc/index.html for the same model). the car seat is only partially automated (backrest and height with no memory function), multi-function steering wheel with trip computer, and it says "Steering column - manually adjustable for height and reach" -- somehow can't find it?? thanks for helping...i will try what you recommended as well...

Oh!!!, the beaches and the fine women of Malaysia. Wow!!! I wish I was there right now, cruising the streets and having a weekend of inexhaustible fun (my weekend will start early in Malaysia, trust me, I'll make sure they do!!!). Well, dreams are not illegal, are they??? As soon as I can find out anything from MBUSA, I'll let you know. I hope they are familiar with the Malaysian models. have you contacted your dealer or service center? That may be much faster. Will talk later.

Tang1, I contacted MBUSA and their best advice is to contact Germany - daimlerchrysler.com. I hope you have this resolved.
