Yet another "Car Wont Start" Thread - ideas?
I have done my research and next time it acts up I will put it into neutral and try that. But in the mean time . . . . .
Intermittently but with now with increasing frequency when I get in to start my 1997 E420 I turn the key and everything powers up but nothing happens – co cranking - no clicking – whirring or anything.
Then after a few tries with no results it starts right up on the first crank.
Today at lunch t took maybe 5-6 times turning the key to get some action.
What’s wrong? Thanks in advance for your insights as always.
I have a big appointment with Steve on Friday night and can’t miss it !!!

Could be a bad key or bad ignition switch or possibly a lot of other things. Only way to tell for sure is to spend a few bucks and have it diagnosed by a dealer.
