E vs C comparisons.

I took a look at the '06 E55 and could not help being impressed. Man!

One thing did stick to the back of my head; it FELT a lot bigger than my 430.

I WANT an AMG car, I just want it! So I'll go back and take a look at the C55, but I wanted to know what some of you think are the things I may regret/be glad about if I do make the change.

I can't think of a single thing you'd regret

As I said in the other thread.. the E just looks better... forgetting any other advantages like Airmatic..

If you can afford the E then it's a no brainer. I think the E will retain its value alot better than the C plus it has MORE of everything. It's like deciding whether to date the beautiful girl next door or to date a supermodel/Playmate. They both will give you a great tickle but it's all about how it'll get you there.

At least the C55 is basically a 4 door CLK. It would be better than the average C-Class for value and looks. The W211 E-Class has slightly less room on the inside than the W210 but that is mostly in the back seat. I don't think that you would regret either a new C55 or E55.

We looked at both when we purchased our E320 in July.

C class was a very nice car, albeit "entry" level. That is a bad name for the C, as it is more luxury than most "entry" level auto out there. It is very sporty, has great pickup and good gas mileage. The interior was a bit cramped for our 3 person family, yet it would've gotten the job done just as well as the E. Price was a good feature if you didn't get too extravagent.

E class is more luxury ride and image than the C I think. It rides like a cushy cloud where the C is nimble and tight. The interior is bigger in the E and has more standard goodies. It has a more snotty appeal than the C. Then again, you pay $20K more for the E than the C (in the ballpark).

We purchased a used 2002 E320 instead of a new C class. We are happy with our decision.

It all boils down to what the person wants, likes, needs, and will suit their life.

Heh-heh. Vogland lowering springs, Bilstein sport shocks, and 17" summer tires... the E is no longer a "cushy cloud", I can assure you.
