my old key Fob casing is a bit loose...is there an easy way to open the plastic casing and put the key and chip into another casing?

 

Yes, I purchased a "key" on eBay for $25 and used the shell to replace one that was cracked. I took the battery out and then a small white "keeper". The chip and circuit board then slipped out easily. The assembly is the reverse. Good luck.

 

i just did replaced my key fob's shell, with that of a newer one i bought on ebay. it works GREAT! the switch was easy, and improved the reliability of my lock button. (it was working about 1 in 20 clicks, now its 100%) i just save $200+ !!! woohoo!

 

Where can I purchase the key fob shell? And how do I open it?
