What is your "Beater"?????

It's about 100 yards from my front door and takes me to most anywhere I want to go in DC, MD, and VA. And with one switch, Baltimore, Delaware, Philly, and NYC. It also drops me 20 yards from the front door of my job.

Well, I just sold my "beater". I used to drive it all the time while the Benz sat in the garage all alone. Bought it in March '05. Yea, it was OK. But I was tired of the sudden lurching forward and aft as I started and stop. The loud buzzing in my ears as I drove it around from the loud mufflers and super loud stereo system. It was such a sight that most everywhere I went people used to ask me about it..................yea, I just sold my beater..............

Now that i have my E55, I need to choose which to keep as a "beater", my 97 E420 or 00 Honda CRV. I can't keep all of them.
On one hand, E420 is safe, much more comfortable to drive than the CRV, and with my snow tires perform well during winter.
I don't like the driving position in the CRV, and the HVAC is weak in the CRV but it's a nice little SUV, can carry cargo, and easy on the maintenance.
Any suggestions?

I have 2 cars in addition to Benzie, a 1991 Toyota Camry LE V-6 (99k) and a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim V-6 (147k); both were bought new. I'm in sales so these are my work cars, and the ones that see the winter driving conditions. Believe it or not, I still park both of these out in left field on parking lots because I don't like door dings.
