transmision

I have a '95 E420. It feals that the transmision is shifting rough when the engine and the transmision are cold. After that it's fine. What should I do to fix the problem? Thank you

The transmission delays shifting when it's cold to help it warm up more quickly. Because the shifts are delayed, your engine will rev higher. Shifts at high RPM (but not much throttle) are a bit rougher.

It's best to let your car idle for about 30 seconds after you start it until the RPM sits down below 1000 RPM. Then just drive very gently until it's fully warmed up. The problem with letting your car warm up idling is that your engine runs cold for a very long time. It's better for your engine to warm up more quickly by driving gently than to warm up slowly at idle. If in doubt, read the manual...

When's the last time the tranny fluid was changed or flushed ? That might be your answer.
