engine "hum" in cabin

Hi,

I'm new to the W210 and I have a E430 Sport. Ever since I got it, I'm hearing a dull, low hum in the cabin while the motor is running. This occurs with or without the AC being turned on. Is this normal or do you think I have a problem? The hum seems to get more apparent as the engine temp goes up past 80 degrees.

You may want to check your motor mounts. They are filled with oil from the factory and they tend to flatten out over time (and leak). Once they flatten out, you will get more engine noise transferred to the body. I am sure that are fifteen other things to check, but this forum is usually pretty good to give you plenty of things to look for.
Good Luck and welcome.

I had a hum in my car, and it turned out to be the fuel pump. My was located in the left rear panel.

I have a 2001 E class with only 15000 miles on it. I think I had it changed at 10,000 miles. My dealer said that this was only his 3rd fuel pump he had to change on this type of car. But, we are a population of only 100,000+. Hope this is the problem for you, because it would be an easy fix. Good luck.
