1997 E 320 - 2000 S500
Window Tint

I have been told that all window tint will scratch on my 1997 E320 beause there is no fent on the inside window seal and dust will scratch it.

Of couse they told me this after they did the job and let me pay the bill

Is this true

I used LLUMAR Tint

Is this the best I was told it was by the company installing

yes, it is very true. you need to buy some of the adhesive felt strips, pop your door panels off (there is a thread with instructions for this), and put the strips on the rubber seals. i thought i'd be fine with the film wax the tint shop sold me, but i wound up with some dirt on the seal, and it carved out some nasty lines on the tint. they are really noticable when the sun comes in at certain angles. now i'm going to have to go get my front windows retinted - ouch

I have the same issue on my 01 E430. I have vertical lines on my front two windows. I asked the tint shop if they do the felt and they said no.

Where can one buy the felt for the windows?
