my climate control ec button is not shutting off, causing the a/c to not come on. is there a way to reset the button, or is my climate control busted? thanks

Is could be that u have a broken A/C.
If the perssure wont come up.. then the EC will be on all the time.
(the lamp doubles as Error lamp also)
Do a search on AC and u will find many informations including how to find errors.

I hope it helps

EC light stays on generally for two reasons. Insufficient refrigerant charge or bad refrigerant pressure switch. Search the archives.

EC button

I had the same issue over the summer. There is a code that you have to put in, by turning off the car and plugging some numbers with the ac controler. I think I found the info at www.mercedesshop.com, and search for 210 chassis climate control problem. try that, it worked for me..

let me know alejandro01970@yahoo.com

Just FYI, that code only applies when your refrigerant pressure sensor is bad.

The A/C shuts off when to prevent compressor damage when the pressure is low. There are two sensors: one in the dash and one in the compressor itself. If the dash sensor detects insufficient pressure, it will keep the EC light on and won't send the signal to turn on the compressor. You can bypass that safeguard by entering the code alejandro mentioned. But if the sensor on the compressor still detects low pressure, it will prevent the compressor switching on without indicating an error on the climate control module.
