Losing power and speed on 99 E320 !
For some reason my car is losing power and speed. When i am at a steady speed the car starts to rapidly slow down, when i am going on 80km the car starts to slow down even when i have my foot on the peddal. When i stop and go, and i have to push the car three times as hard to make it accelerate. When i was driving on the highway the car could only manage to get to 120km, and thats when i pushed the gas at full throttle. This all started about a week ago, the car was running fine before, but i don't know what happend suddenly. Now the car is hardly driveable, if i push really now it only manages to go 80km. This is a really problem, does anyone know whats happening with my car. I just had a major service done on the car, and the car only has about 20,000km. I am officially freaked out !

Is the engine not running right, or does it feel like the link between the gas pedal and the throttle is messed up?
Your throttle cable could be loose. Or there could be some problem with the throttle potentiometer or the throttle actuator, although I would expect problems with either of those would cause a C.E.L.

I got a 99 E320 also, it's the catylic converter, Same exact problem, my happened when i was 300 miles comming home, go to a shop , put the car on the lift and let them disconnect the affected catylic converter-- it's has 4, 2 on each side, usually if you hit the catylic converter with you hands (make a fist)-- you will hear it sound like it is lose inside-- if it sound like that it's damaged, the good one will make no type of sound--
