How much are you guys paying for Service A and B? I just took my car in this morning and they are charging me $400 for the Service B.

That's about right. I pay $210 for "A" and $380 for "B" on my CL.

Just had my Service B done for 475.00 so sounds like you got a deal.

It might depend on which model you have. Looks like you have a E55, which I could imagine would require a few extra steps during maintenance.

According to the list that I have from MB dealers, A lot of "check this... check that" , the only replacement is oil change for service A. For service B, they change oil and spark plugs. If you are handy and want to save money, you can do it yourself, or give your car to an indy shop for 1/2 the costs

Checking this and that is important for preventative maint. It also takes time and the tech must know what to look for. It is very important and by doing it yourself you risk not knowing what to look for and surprises down the road. Yes an independent is an option but in my opinion not a good one. Dealer techs are trained and kept up to date Indy techs are usually quite a bit behind and may be those who do not qualify for a dealership job.

Besides changing the oil at A and B intervals, you also get a windshield wiper and cabin dust filter during the B service. Spark plugs aren't on the list. They are good for 100,000 miles. All that said, my dealer went far beyond just checking things at each interval. They replaced the antifreeze after two years without even informing me. Anyway, now that I don't get free A and B service anymore, I just change the oil myself. I can check the antifreeze and then charge myself $400!!
