which headlights to buy..??
which headlights to buy..??
hey everybody… looking for feedback/opinions on which headlights to get..?? i really dislike the stock headlights..!! (yellowing, faded, dull)
so i've been looking at these on eBay… here’s the choices so far…
i like the projector "like" styling (it just means it "looks" like it, and that’s fine)
the euro clear len’s…
with either the black, chrome or new titanium inner viewable housing…
as you look at these pictures…
keep in mind my E320 is black on black with chrome wheels…
(pic 1) the black version is a dull flat black…
(pic 2) the chrome version is really bright…
(pic 3) the titanium (kind of a black chrome) just screams “HOT”…
so... what you think..??
oh yeah… should let you know, i’m aware of these eBay headlights “sometimes” not being of the highest quality and all. i put some on my mustang and the one on the passenger side fogged up… so with a little extra silicone sealant around the housing seal the problem was solved.
thanks for your input..!!

Hope I don't offend you, but all of these three are crap. They're make by Eagle Lamp, and the quality is really lousy, both in light quality and craftmanship (material, fit & trim). Most aftermarket headlight produce quite aweful light output, due to inferior projector lens. However, beside the lens (which could be replaced, then you would have a good combination of look & light), some aftermarket headlight is made (much) better than other. Depo is probably one of the best aftermarket light maker, and Eagle is probably one of the worst out there.
If you want the projector style, I would recommend the Depo, cost around $40-50 more than the Eagle one, but look much better (ressemble the look of the W211 headlight), and is much better built.

thanks for the input...
do you know if "Depo" has the titanium version..??
i really think that would look best..!!
but yes, i'm worried about the quality, fit and output... but then the stock lens look like such cr*p... i just can't take it anymore...
recently found a guy on eBay selling just the stock lenses (like oem) but that whole look, i don't know... "yuk"...
oh what to do, what to do... need better options...
has anyone actually used these new titanium versions... or are they the same cheap lights, just painted with a different finish..??

Zam has more first hand experience with retrofitting of HIDs, dinking with
lights than any others on these forums. Just one thing to consider with
the Depos: E55 bixenons are near drop in and very do-able for those
who have even a modicum of assembly skills. I'm estimating that after
the Depo purchase, turning them to bix HID will only be another $300 or so.
On the matter of which looks better, aesthetic wise, I prefer the chrome,
silver innards for your all black car. Black out the grill and smoke the tail lights.
Do the HID retrofit into chrome surrounds. I think it'll look much
better at night.

ok... i'm a believer... zam's the one who knows... (i'm not)
i don't know that much about xenon’s or HID... i just know the yellow and faded lens have got to go...
a friend suggested removing them (the faded len's) and use some rubbing compound to buff out the problem... i've also seen some products advertised just for the yellowing problem but don't know if any really work... so when i just came across these on eBay and thought they looked nice... kind of figured i asked those who might know first hand...
i really like the titanium but if it's not available in a quality set, oh well...
where does one get these Depo's..??
i'm not looking to upgrade the lighting... rarely drive at night anyway... more about the look.
looking for the lowest cost fix possible without just throwing the money away on something that’s going to be just junk in no time... don't really mind spending it on something i'll enjoy if only for a short time i guess anyway.

Search the forums then. If you're okay with the light output, then there's
no sense replacing all at hundereds of $ in the process....unless you really
want to upgrade the lighting in the process.
Search using key words "headlight polish" to see other tips.

i bought some on ebay the depos and my lights are facing down to the street they look like crap and have water in them for wks now(LOL) man total crap but they look good in pics.. anyone know how to fix the problem with them facing towards the street?
As I recall, number of responses to your earlier post highlights the need to
use silicone sealent around the perimenter of the lens - where it joins the
gray housing. Have you done this......yet? A search of this site will reveal
that this is a common happening unless sealed.
Insofar as adjusting your headlight, have you located the adj knobs atop
the headlight housing? What action have you taken towards readjusting
the light ?
