Here's anyone's chance to get a 5.5L motor to do the swap! Check it out!

Thanks for sharing, looks like they are local to me and offer used MB parts cuz I'm looking for a set of headrest. If I were keeping the E430, I would be game in swapping that E55 for the 430. :p

Rich 6500.00 is a good price.Steve paid a little more than me but I got lucky and bought mine for 5k.this motor would just drop in your car no problem. The TQ is such a lovely experience.I know where to get the tranny for 1k(only a little more) so it's around that target of 7k but you don't need to use the 55 tranny, yours will bolt right up! pS it will drop in the ML430 as well!

it would be nice to get the transmission, exhaust, and control modules to make the transition go better.

Alex,Have you done this mod b4? How do you know how much it will cost? I think I would have a somewhat better idea than you don't you think? That is of course unless you did this b4.

If he has an E430 he will not need the 5.5l Tranny! People do use kleeman S/C on their cars and the trannies hold up.I'm using my stck tranny!Motor and labor will cost him about 7500.00-8k complete with install.

actually i've seen it done......it all depends on how much you get the motor for.......yea for rich he can do it much cheaper but i was talking about if you need motor/tranny/wiring harness/control modules........for example if you wanted to go from a e320 to a e55......a lot of work......

Absolutely that's the most important issue!

the e320 to 55 swap perhaps yes,BUT the only electronics difference (most 98-2k1 cars use the same ECU with AMG having a separate one for their cars)MAY be the ECU and only the harness on top of the engine .There is a harness and plug leaving the ECU on the passengers side of the car that will accept the v8 engine harness or the v6 engine harness. However i really should confirm that statement first. Yes the tranny might have to be chgd but i'll check.

i tried to look into it before a long time ago but gave up... i wanted to do it to my 97 straight 6 but didn't and then thought about a c32 or c36 because those 2 would bolt up to my tranny.....

97 W210 six has an entirely different setup than the 98 W210 v6.They do have a E36 W124 93-96 and a E36 95-96 W210 in Germany but they are very very hard to find.To be honest with you I can't for the life of me see why the C36 motor could not wrk in your 97 W210 as it is similar to the W210 95-96 E36 in Germany! By the way folks have dumped the 2.8 and 3.0 straight 6 in the W124 car and have installed the 3.6L AMG motors in their cars. There are quite a few guys on here from Europe that have done so. The AMG E50 motor DOHC 5.0L V8 drops in a 95-97 E420. You'll be amazed at the amt of swaps that can be done with ease as long as you can get the motor for the right price!

The C32 motor is an entirely different story!

exactly but doing the c36 motor wouldn't give me the power that i wanted unless i super charged it. But the key is finding one is very hard.....i have seen one e36 w124 down here but the guy had shiped it from england. it just comes down to how much you want to spend and for me i don't want to dish out to much and doesn't seen worth it....even if i wanted to s/c it no one really makes a kit for the straight 6 unless you go the renntech or i'm not sure klenmann has it.......

Six Autoworks in Alhambra has done Mossleman turbo installs, I've personally seen their install on a 5 Series, real clean.

Alex..sorry for the tardy response, the results were never reveal to me. I met James Wei (co-owner of Six Autoworks) at a show and I was intrigue with his SLK Nitrous Express setup.
