Spare key? Dumb thing happened..
Hello all,
I did something stupid
. I popped the trunk using the key/remote to get something then closed the trunk w/ the key in it.
I do not have a spare key
. I have AAA but I would like to get suggestions first before calling them to open the car using their can opener.
Thanks again

Don't worry too much about using AAA. I had a rent car last week that locked itself with the keys inside ( Toyota Matrix). AAA came and used some very interesting shaped rods to open the door. I asked the fellow about opening different cars and he said that he opened a lot of Mercedes because folks locked the keys in the trunk. He said he opened the door and then you can open the trunk with the button to get your key.

Are there any blonds still trapped in the car?
AAA or the police can use a slim jim to open the lock. The alarm will go off so be fast at opening the trunk.

Use MB"s road service
Don't forget that you can use Mercedes road service anytime. The 800 number should be in your glove box. It is available to any owner of a Mercedes, any year, and at no charge. I have used them many times.

1992 Acura Integra GS 3-Door, 2001 E430
Did the same thing in my 2001 E430 when I was visiting Jacksonville. Big pain, other two keys were at home in NC! AAA won't do anything with a car like this, you can't slim jim the car, also chance of air bag deploying.
Called MB roadside, they referred me to Pop-A-Lock. First technician called, told him what kind of car and problem. He said he couldn't help me, I needed someone with high security lock equip/exp. So another tech. called and came out. He was amazing, a REAL pro, his van was a mini lock store.
Anyway, he was able to pick the driver's door, took about 15 mins. Of course the alarm went off and disabled the trunk opener. He looked for fuses or something under the passenger seat, couldn't find it. He wanted to reset the alarm system. Showed him they were under the rear seat, that didn't work.
So then called another tech in another state for some advice (he never called back)... in the meantime he decided to try and pop the trunk lock. His concern was if not careful the lock could go into a deadbolt position and be SOL. Luckily for me, he was able to pop it and I got my key out of the trunk. He told me that there were two more keys for my car left in the "system". He said he would make me a copy of the key part of the key, but can't get blanks. He told me how he went to the junkyard to get some locks from BMWs to study how they work.
Good luck! Also it cost me $135.00, and my insurance paid me back $100 in the end.

Thanks guys,
Those were good bits of info. The car is in my driveway so there's really no hurry pop it open right now. I have other vehicles I can use.
Thanks again for all your input.
