Retro-fit Parktronic anyone?

I was doing my routine "W210" search on eBay, and fell upon this:

Apparently, parktronic isn't that big of a deal...if anyone has done this before, please give input.

M-B Parktronic includes sensors in the front as well as rear bumpers. The display for the front sensors is integrated into the dashboard, and the rear display is in the rear overhead console. There is also a switch to disable it. The system shown looks like an aftermarket unit.

Going for it soon...

This is what the seller told me about the installation. Apparently, it isn't as bad...

"to install the sensor, you can mark the position to drill the bumper. Just be sure you bend over and look behind the back of your rear bumper to make sure you will not be hitting onto the bumper reinforcement (metal part)

To route the sensor wiring, there are many rubber drain holes that are under your spare tire that you can use to route the sensor wires.

As for the headliner display, you can run the wire at the edge of the headliner and press the wire into the headliner gap by a flat head screwdriver. The display will be mount at the rear part of your headliner or the rear glass, which does not need to take out the headliner to install.

Best Regards

I also recently installed an illuminated trunk lid, along with 4 illuminated door sills. I want to wait until spring break (3/10/2006) to show some nice pics of them...if anyone is interested in purchasing a set, here is the eBay link of the guy selling them. I bought a set from him (he's in UK) and got the sills in ten days. Great guy!
