Question Need Help!!

hey bros i'm new here, i have a 97 e420 and i wanted to kno if anyone has any knowledge on changin an oil filter on a "do it your self" deal...anyone please let me know, i need to change the oil filter soon. thanks

It is pretty straight forward.

IIRC you have to unhook your airbox and remove it to get to the filter. The "cartridge style" filter is on the top passenger side of the engine and a long bolt holds the cover. Remove the bolt and cover, pull out the old filter, drop in a new cartridge, replace the o-ring on the cover and re-secure. The o-ring comes with the filter.

I think the E420 holds quite a bit of oil. IIRC is was around 10-11 quarts. I checked a couple oil change places and the normal charge around here was $55-$65 with non-synthetic oil. You can do it yourself for much less.
