Typically, lights only fog/milk/yellow updue to contamination found in the air. Just like you have to polish your paint, you have to polish your headlights. Just get any plastic polish found at your local autozone (meguiars PlasticX ) and apply the product with a cotton terry cloth and passionately ( not softly ) rub in the product, then wipe off. If you start to see results, then keep going! picture will help show if the damage is on the outside and not the inside....

I looked around at the local parts stores for the plastic polish, when I had my old halogen headlights, but I never could find any so I bought a sandpaper kit used for refinishing plexiglass aquariums, and it helped a fair amount.

the meguiars products really do work on the lens, but most stores dont carry them. I ordered the all of them on line at the Meguiars site

I regularly use Blue Magic on my Toyota's composite lamps - they are as good as new.

Craeful with that though. If you do that make sure you wetsand it and finish off with a rubbing compound and very fine grade of sandpaper, oh and use lots of water. If you want to go this route, go ahead, and just ask me how to do it. I'm really tired right now and am about to go to a golf course. But the plastic polish does not necessarily have to be a Meguiars brand. PlastX is good as well as the Mothers brand. And if not, you can just order online www.meguiars.com sorry but i was just born and raised meguiars. There may be better products out there but i just know that these work.

If you cannot plastic polish, Flitz, Blue Magic or other metal polish used with a Mother's power ball will do the trick. I also used 1500 grit wet/sand paper before I start with the polish. Use lots of water, and use a microfiber cloth clean things up. The power ball is amazing.

Use Mother's aluminum polish. I works. I've been using it on all our cars/van with plastic lens.

Just yesterday I was screwing around, poked around the garage and found a bottle of the Meguiars plastic polish...and my Makita buffer. Hit the lenses and ten minutes later, saw a huge difference. Then I found my Blue Magic, which seems to have a grittier consistency - but since I only had a finish wheel for the buffer, left them alone. When I get another foam cutting wheel, I plan to go to work on them again with the Blue Magic.

Looking at the chiny new lenses motivated me enough to go out and get some Silverstars. Popped them in and again, said wow, what a difference.

Huge and cool update for less than fiddy dollars!

The Wax Shop also makes a great product called "Safe Cut" - it works wonders on your paint and plastic.
