Speedo needle acting weird.

Hey Guys,

My speedo needle is acting weired on my 02 W210.
I think that this is due to that sun heats it up a little too much.
When I accelerate it moves up in steps instead of smoothly.
I goes up aout 3-4 miles at a time. But when I slow down it goes down smoothly and only some times in steps too. After an hour or so it begins to work like it should. (guess when it cools off).
Anyone had this problem?? Today I covered speedo panel with a white cover magazine, will see if it goes away.

The base of the needle can stick in spots along the opening. Mine did the same thing so I took the cluster apart and slightly pulled the needle out from the face of the gauge. It was a temperature thing as well. Like it expanded slightly so it would rub in spots making the needle jerky in places as it rotated higher.
