Question PS Filter on W210??

Subject car: 1999 E300D

I ordered some fresh Febi PS fluid and a PS filter. They sent me MANN H85 filter, it looks just the filter that sat in the bottom of the fluid reservoir on my W116. However, the PS reservoir on this W210 car is much smaller and I can't imagine where the filter would go. Is it applicable to the W210 cars?

Thanks.

Had the same problem...

dealer sold me the same filter but I have a pump like yours. The EPC shows two different pump types for the car. The other looks like it might take the filter. So far as I can tell, there is no replaceable filter for our cars.

OK, thanks. That's kinda what I figured based on further inspection of the plastic PS reservoir housing.

PS filter

On the cars from about 1997 on, the filter is built in to the resevoir. The method for changing it is to just replace the resevoir, maybe at the same time the seals between it and the pump start leaking. A bit less inviting to those of us like to keep everyting fresh and serviced...
