FlatlineEF9;
I believe your posts say that you are running 18" wheels, lowered your vehicle with Eibach springs and you're using OEM shocks. Is that correct?
I have a set of H&R springs on order and some have suggested that I should replace the OEM shocks with something like Bilsteins. I'm not looking to improve the handling; I only want to lower my vehicle since I changed out the OEM 16" wheels to 18" AMG's. Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks for the update; called my local shop on Tuesday and the foreman told me that the H&R springs are currently on back-order.
Asked him again if it was best to replace the original OEM shocks with a shorter shock, such as Bilsteins. The shop forman is still insistent that it isn't necessary. I asked him if it was his car would he replace the shocks and he told me that if he wasn't trying to improve the handling, he wouldn't change the shocks out until they were worn-out.
I went to the Bilstein website and for my W210 they show a 'comfort' shock available, yet when I shop online, the Tire Rack and Performance Products don't even show Bilsteins available for my model. The foreman also told me that the 'comfort' shock was the same length as the OEM shock. Maybe someone can post if this is accurate...
