2003 E55
1997 E320 replacement.

I have a 1997 E320 that I am replacing with a newer vehicle. I am having a hard time deciding between getting a newer 2000-2001 E55 or 2003-newer E320. I have always loved the E55 but am having trouble deciding if I should go for a W211 or stay with the W210.

Thanks,
Steve

Difficult task... I personally would perferr newer model. But again, isn't new redesign E-class coming out next year?

Same here. Got the 98E320, bought the 04 E320 (new). Wish that I would have bought the 01-03 E55. Well, too late for me.

I don't even like the 04 E320, engine power & trans is the same as my 98 E320, and the ride is too soft.

If you want the W211, might want to consider the 06 E350, much more hp and torque.

Those sure sound like two completely different cars! If you'd like a compromise of both power and price, why not consider a 2001-2002 e430?

2006 E55 and 2002 E320
Personally, I do prefer the W210 body style. Besides, the W211, the first two years had quite a few bugs in the electronics.

Lastly, the W210 is the last sedan out of the entire Mercedes line-up that has the solid tank feeling. That's a reason in itself to keep that car.

The 2001-2002 E430 is really not that big of a difference than the E320, I'd go for the E55.

2003 E55
I think I have decided to go with the E55. More smiles per hour. I have a set of 18X8.5 and 18X10 Carlsson 1/6 on my E320. Will they bolt on the E55? Any problem areas on the E55 I should look our for?

Thanks for all of your input.
Steve

2003 E55
I purchased a 2001 E55 yesterday. The more time I spend in the car the more differences I notice from the 1997 E320. I am very happy with my decision and thanks for all your input.
