How many miles do you have on your E Class?
#626
Hmmmm, my 2 month old E320 has just turned over 32,000 miles.
It's a cherry one owner Hawaii car. It is everything the CLK320 was not
at least so far, and that car had identical low miles and far too many issues.
So far just the standard cosmetic problems, antenna gasket and mast, windshield cowls, door sill plate.
Needed a good claying, Meguirs Ultimate polish, engine detail, a few door dings massaged out, and looks 95% new. Drives smooth, shifts right, feels solid.
Very nice car!

How has the benz held up? Have you ever put it on a lift and looked underneath? I suppose with such low miles it must have been in a garage most of the time, but I'm still curious.

Year:2000
Model: E320 4Matic
Country: USA
Mileage: 253k
Comments: recent Trans shift contact plate; front rotors/pads, very faithfully maintained, Mobil 1 0W40 always, serpentine belt tensioner failure (ouch!), uses some oil, but has used some oil for a long time, very solid car

E430
Year:1998
Model: E430
Country: USA
Mileage: 98K
Comments: It might be a 16 year old car, but sure doesn't feel 'old'. Been a reliable car that has aged very nicely with no major hiccups other than a weeping rear main seal.
Need to do trans flush soon as it's got original fluid in there...yuck!

Model: E320

Comments: Long-running thread that I've added to a few times over the years. Mine just had her 13th birthday. Only known issue is the transmission-selector display: some lost pixels.

2006 W203 C200K, 1998 W210 E280 (totalled), 1993 W124 200E (sold)
Bit dissapointed
1998 E280 V6
Bought car with 132000 kilometers on clock.
Within 5 days of ownership the rubber bonding between inner and outer rings of crankshaft pulley came apart. Solved problem by having a steel ring insert made to fit between inner and outer ring thus now have a solid pulley with no noticeable problems.
Sunroof get stuck when opening.
Substantial play in left fron upper control arm.
At 156000 kilometers suspected head gasket failure - in process of replacing head gaskets (also see my thread on cylinder head woes).
Not related to any fault of the Merc, rats somehow also got into the car and did substantial damage leather upholstery and gear knob

Only 9,574 did the car come from an estate?

2000 e320
r these cars built to last?
I hope I have no problems.
Everything works well except outside temp light (temp is there but not lit, hard to read). I hope this is an easy fix.
Love the car....I'm gonna go drive it now...

E320
201,225 Miles

One little old lady owner when I bought it in January 2014 with 196,000. No issues. I have added an H&R Sport Cup Kit and BBS RS in 16x8 and 16x10. Power steering is starting to get hard to the right. Possibly due to greater contact patch causing increased wear and tear on an older steering system?

1998 Mercedes e320
1998 E320 4 Matic
128,600 miles
Have only owned it for 5 months, but from what I have been able to find out it has had no problems. The only things I have found are a very minor oil weep where the drive shaft connects to the rear end housing, which I assume is a seal of some sort, and the self-dimming rear view mirror doesn't seem to dim that I can tell. All other functions seem to be in order and working well. Only expense so far has been an oil change (with the proper oil), and replacing a burnt out tag light.
The car was always garaged, so it still looks very nice. Only change I might consider is upgrading the stereo system and eliminating the obsolete phone that is still in the top console. The stereo and six disc changer still work perfectly, so it is a minor concern, and from all the confusing info one finds on this site concerning the change, I hesitate doing anything till I find someone who has actually done it and knows exactly what to do.
I am an old, retired geezer, so I plan on this car seeing me to the end of my trail, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

229,000 miles
Still runs good. Haven't been putting the miles on her as I have another car that I drive.
She still looks great and isn't really worth much so I just can't let her go.
