Hi All!

I have owned my 2002 E 320 for about 2 weeks and have not quite settled into yet due to the enormous amounts of gadgets inside the vehicle. My first main concern is that I have NO cd player. A changer is going to cost $850 INSTALLED by the dealer. I purchased an IPOD and it was very static sounding. I was told that the fiber optics in the car messed up the signal... Well, whatever, it got returned and now all I have is the radio. I didn't purchased from the MB dealer, so the dealership was not very helpful. Here are some of the things I need help with......

1) I need a new cover for the passenger's side mirror. The cover flew off. The little piece that helps it catch broke off.

2) I need MUSIC..... Cd changer or is there something else I can get? I don't want to cheapen the car with an in-dash

3) There is a funky smell coming out of the vents when the AC is turned out. Not sure if it's the charcoal filter or what....

4) Need (1) door lock nobby thing for the driver's side. (You know, that thing that goes down into the door when you lock it? My dog chewed it.)

I am getting the windows tinted tomorrow. Costing $300. Ever heard of such a thing? The company that tints for FJ Mercedes in Vegas states there is a special "layer" that goes on top so the tint doesn't get damaged every time you roll the windows up and down....

Any advice would REALLY help... I want to enjoy my car, but I am not all the way comfortable in it yet... Just a typical woman, I guess!

Thanks!

JAMIE

welcome!

i have have 2000 driver and 1999 both side, but no 2002

you can find MC-3010 or MC-3198 changers used but just be clear
that these models that MB uses suck and will probably die in a couple
of years, get jammed, or the perpetual "NO CD Changer" or "No
Magazine" messages.

3) There is a funky smell coming out of the vents when the AC is turned out. Not sure if it's the charcoal filter or what....

mold spores in tract. dealer can spray something down there to
help control growth. poor A/C design and reported by many MB
owners. just search this forum under 'musty smell' or something...
you'll see you're not alone. tips and tricks to keep this to minimum.

4) Need (1) door lock nobby thing for the driver's side. (You know, that thing that goes down into the door when you lock it? My dog chewed it.)

try Ebay...maybe getting chrome plastic ones to make it look better,
or aluminim ones (too pricey for me). if you have pic of one you need,
i (and others) can see if they have.

yup, search this forum "moleskin"

Ipod static - depends what device you're using. it is *not* the fiber
which is causing this. fiber is optic, not electro/magnetic. how do you
have it hooked up to the head unit? cassette adaptor? FM transmitter?
