Buy pre- or post-facelift E320? Differences??
Hi folks!!
I'm looking at either 1998 BMW 740iL or a 1999-2000 MB E320. I noticed that W210 chassis underwent a facelift for MY00.
Were the changes mostly COSMETIC, or were there other significant changes as well? Should I spend more now for a 00+ E320, or are 99 E320 just as good except for the different front fascia? Honestly, I can't even tell the differences when I look at the pictures. What am I missing??
If I do get either one, I'll probably do a XENON upgrade, get 18" rims, and other good stuff. Thanks!!

post face lift
- steering wheel controls for radio, cruise, dash menu
- change headlight assembly requires bumper drop
- seats are scootch more huggy and soft vs flat slabs of 99
- tiptronic shifting
thats all i can think of right now. too full from bbq earlier today....
otherwise, very similar/same radio, interior lighting, seat/window switch,
interior, D2B sound system, tranny, V6 engine....and just about the same
TSBs of the 99 (rust, harmonic balancer, gasket, seat noise, headlight
condensation, etc). 2000 i have has 4matic - dont recall if 99 had this
as option.
may have a few minor diff...
pre- six grid grill; post-5 grids
