Eibachs installed in front, H&R in rear:

distinct rake towards front end now:

I probably lost 1/2" in ride height:

Larger gap at rear now:

these cars have such large wheel wells that those 18s look TINY. W210s deserve at least DUBs to fill all that space!!

Yeah, not where this car is being operated....it's just not practical. If the roads were paved with gold, it might be a different story.

Richard, what is your tire size front and rear?

Also, do you know if you can use a spring compressor that you install on the outside of the spring, or does this require the compressor (as pictured) that goes through the inside of the spring?

Red66GT;

AMG 18x8 Style III et30 Silver - Front
AMG 18x9 Style III et39 Silver - Rear
Bridgestone Potenza RE750 235/40x18 - Front
Bridgestone Potenza RE750 265/35x18 - Rear

I believe that the spring compressor the installer used was similar to the one pictured, going inside the spring.

it's quite apparent to my eyes that Richard's car went
through a lowering, given his photos. uber's didn't have before/after shots,
but if you know E320s it is easy to detect the front drop...though less apparent
in the rear...which supports his description of the front biased rake.

Raymond;

I agree with you on the front vs. rear drop; the main reason I should have gone to #1 pads was to lower the rear a little more, though I would have done both front and rear, so a little 'rake' would still have been there anyway.

Finally !! all springs are in. What a job

I ended up dropping the control arm in the rear to quickly swap springs. It was quite easy and quick apart from getting the single bolt back in place that secures the control arm.

Ride quality is somewhat better. i've lost about 1/2" all around which makes me really nervous I can't go back to the H&Rs. I guess I am left to take my chances with road debris. I've got #5 pads in the front and I bought some #1 pads for the rear. car is fairly level..I just wish the front wasn't so low. May explore the E55 spring option...

With my setup, I can tell you that I'm not even close to rubbing the fenderwell; no problems what so ever.

For whatever reason, I don't seem to have any clearance issues. Here are some fotos from late afternoon:

I am going to take my vehicle to the local Mercedes-Benz dealer and have a four-wheel alignment done: quoted $180 at this point, plus an additonal fee if it needs an alignment kit(s). Other tire & wheel shops are half that amount, but my M-B dealer has a new $90k alignment machine that I'm assured will not mark up, scratch or dent my wheels.
The car looks very nice however the dealer sure is charging you a hell of alot of money to do the job! As long as you're happy though. But in time,the sorry H&R springs will sag in time and have your tires rubbing the fenders. Keep an eye on it!

Damn Stealerships!
