recall you should look for don't wait for letter in your mail box
yesterday I was driving in the city when my frontend passenger side dropped and the spring got loos under the car , today I towed it to bm dealership, I was disappointed when the manager told me that there is a recall for the springs holding cups which was inspected in 2001 and was cleard of the system as nothing done
so look for any sign of crack or rust in those cups so you do not go through the same as I did . and I was lucky that I was driving on low speed not on the highway

Can you find out please when the recall was issued.? It is relevant to several E class owners I know. Are Mercedes going to fix your rust completely free? Keep us posted. Many others affected!

I saw on eclassbenz.com (I believe) that certain W210s have rust issues, and I think some are around the front fenders which causes the problem you are describing. Good Luck!

I did not know about the recall. I called my MB service advisor he did not mentioned any recall he said if the spring holder peace is broken you should tow it to MB body shop, so at the bodyshop I discoverd that there is a recall. whoever the recall effects all E class
MB fixed my car at no cost to me but since one spring was damaged due to the drop they said they well replace only one spring so i requisted to change the other side and I had to pay $100 plus tax the price of the spring only
