Oil Level Sensor Failure

I had a CEL with OIL SENSOR FAILURE about a year ago for a couple of times. CEL hasn't returned. I bought the sensor and oil pan sealant already. Should I do the repair any way or just wait? It's been 1 yr and 7k mi since the last CEL.

If anyone needs an oil sensor, let me know. I'm less inclined to change it if the CEL hasn't returned for so long.

BRAND NEW Sensor and Sealant available for sale. This should fit many MBs between 97-2001 and possibly newer as well. Make me an offer.

I had the same CEL message 2 months ago. I simply turned the car off, restarted and it hasn't returned since.

The car has 111,000 miles on the clock.

I'd be interested in hearing about this. How expensive is the sensor?

Anyone?

Sensor and the sealant was about $160 IIRC. The job will require removal of the oil pan to access the sensor inside.

If the CEL has not returned for a few weeks, you are probably OK. If it returns, let me know and I have all the parts needed with instructions on the job too.
