Oil change time. Shopping for oil and this was about the lowest found during my
search. $5.15 per liter. Shipping is a fixed $7 be it 1 liter or 40 liters. If you've
seen cheaper online price, would appreciate a pointer. I might as well stock up.

Get some oil filters also

You might as well get some fleece oil filters from them while you are at it. The group at Park Place was easy to deal with.

Just a guess

That is who I buy my oil from. The containers are quarts not liters though.

Agreed, I have seen 0W-40 Mobil One Synthetic at your 1st two listed options here too, but I don't remember what I paid for it. I don't change my own, and only bought 1 quart to have in the trunk for emergencies.

IF I remember, WalMart was less. Unfortunately, we don't have Mobil stations around here or I might try their gasoline as well.

Does anyone know if there are any recommended german-made oils on the "made for USA import" list?

There is a company called "Liqui Moli" that I think is german, and we were discussing their gas-additives on another thread. That is apparently the fuel system additve that at least SOME MB dealers use, if indicated.

the price around Seattle seems to be about $1 more each. Sales tax is 8.9%

Last time I bought the Mobil1 0w40 I paid $5.59 per qt at my local Autozone. They're the only place in my town where I can consistently find it.

M, here is the updated listing: http://www.whnet.com/4x4/oil.html

There are lots of oils from Europe on the list. Some you can find, others are not exported to USA. ELF has numerous oils meeting the MBz criteria and you can find some of them on eBay.

I went crazy looking for the Mobil 1 0W-40 until I figured out the dealer sells it 3 cents cheaper per container than Wal Mart (which didn't have enough anyway).

Congratulations on finding it, and as much as you needed, but I would have suspected any MB dealer to order it by the 55-gallon drum!

My dealer charges more than Wally World for the *Smart Key* watch batteries though
