Climate Control fan not blowing cold air
97 E320
My air conditioning system isn't blowing cold air - the air IS cold (frosts the windshield) - it's just the blower not blowing.
Is there a fuse somewhere for this blower? I looked at fuses under the hood, next to the drivers door, and under the back seat... can't find any bad fuses or anything labeled as "blower".
Anyone have a clue? It's 100 degrees in Chicago today, and no AC!!!

it's the blower motor regulator...
bad design that MB has since changed... however the new part requires you buy a new motor and housing... around $600 - $1200 depending on where you go...
you can modify the regulator (wire harness) from a W140 S500 and have yours working like a charm... about $225
heres the "how-to".... Early W210 Blower Motor Regulator Replacement DIY
any questions just ask...

it's easy, just did mine and a friends

On edit: Read the instructions in your link, it doesn't look like a big deal to change... Thanks again, this will save a lot of work/effort.

your welcome... i searched the web and found www.autohausaz.com to be the lowest priced supplier (and i must say excellent service) they offer two manufacturers: Kaehler (KAE) #1408218351 at $163.63 and Behr # 1408218451 at $214.79...
i ordered the more expensive unit by Behr (Germany) because i was told the less expensive version from KAE is made in France and does not hold up as well… although… i do believe they may have since modified the heat sink from the original version (notice it’s thicker) and even they’re model works better then what was originally used in the E-class… (which i believe they supplied as well).
go with the Behr... you'll be glad you did in the long run... it's an easy DIY job... if you can't handle the soldering part, i know others that have used insulated crimp on connectors and the job worked the same (solder is the best way if done correctly)...
i've done two now (mine and a friends)... you'll love it when it's blowing max air... it'll almost blows my hat off...
take care now... BOL

Update:
I ordered the better regulator from autohauz and performed the fix today. Easier than I thought, but still made me nervous when I started cutting up the wiring on a brand new $200 part!
Anyway, I now have air conditioning again!
Thanks Mr. B... You saved me a few bucks!
