Melted Headlight Housing

Driving home tonight my driver's side headlamp went out. Thought nothing of it until I went to replace the bulb and come to find out that the headlight housing is completely melted!!! I was able to get the bulb out but the plastic housing and wiring are fried!!! What am I going to need to shell out to replace this housing/wiring and connector? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

2002 E320 Driver's side headlamp.

I actually have an update on this. The headlamp wiring, high and low beams, comes installed with the entire headlamp assembly from the factory! Thus, the headlamp housing at the MB stealership runs about $450. Pretty steep. Instead of going this route, I got them to sell me the adapter wiring for about $30 and soddered it in to replace the melted housing and wiring. It would be so much easier if they just sold the entire wiring harness minus the headlamp housing. Obviously, this way they make more $$$

Nope, Sylvania bulbs....not sure exactly why this occurred. I did the "HID" bulb thing a while back but decided to go back to the stocks since the parking lamps didn't match. When I ran the HID's I had zero problems....

What kind of Sylvania bulbs? Did you get the correct bulb/wattage that is specified in the owners manual? I find it VERY hard to believe that the correct bulb caused this.
