front bumper impact strip/molding removal???
Hi, I have a '99 E320 and I need to remove the front bumper impact strip. Do I need to remove the entire bumper? Or can I just remove the impact strip or molding?

99 E class rubbing / impact / moulding strip removal
I have been told you need to remove the bumpers completely to ensure that you don't brake any of the flexible moulded-in clips which hold the rubbing strip in position, when you take it off. I asked my local body-shop and a Mercedes-Benz specialist.
All 4 corners of my E are scuffed and I'd also like to tidy them up. (It was the previous owner's ex-girlfriend in the supermarket car park who scuffed them - honest!)
Not a difficult, only awkward job, but easy for a DIY-er apparently . . .

Wow - a blast from the past! I don't have my E anymore, but I did remove the entire bumper, only 4 or 6 bolts hold the entire assembly on to the front end (from memory). It was not very difficult, thanks for your reply.
