Retain power in Cigarette Lighter
Sorry if it's already answered, however I didn't find anything in the archives. Usually, Cigarette Lighter has power all time regardless an ignition key presenting and position. However for E-class it looks like a key should be in position 2. is any way to keep power in Cigarette Lighter all time?

Not sure about that, but I DO know I have problems keeping some accessory plugs to stay in the socket. Apparently it's pretty big.

I have found the cigarette lighter only has power when the key is turned, regardless of position (half or fully-cranked engine, as it were). This is a good thing. Trust me, a Land Rover owner: nothing is worse than coming out to a dead car battery and a fully charged cell phone.
Another thing I realized is that often, the adapter for devices like a cellphone actually can bend the prongs of the lighter and make it cease to function as a lighter. I have had to have mine replaced twice.
Have you ever noticed how big the damn ash tray is? I think it's because E drivers are supposed to smoke the stogies....
