How do the W210's rate as a tow car?

Should a transmission cooler be installed at the same time as the tow bar?

I would like to tow a boat approx 1500kg on a trailer with override cable brakes. I do most of my towing in summer and my main concern is overheating the transmission. The local lake is 150km from my home and the roads are quite steep & twisty. The summer temperature in the area is often in the high 30's (degrees Celsius).

 

Yup i would highly recomend one. Does the E have an engine oil cooler as well? maybe you can get both done.
