New E320 Owner Observations & ?s
Purchased the '02 E320 I had discussed in a previous thread. Really like the looks of the Brilliant Silver w/ Charcoal Gray interior. A few observations thus far & a couple of questions:
- engine power comes on very smoothly, crisp pickup w/ smooth shifts
- steering is dead on, no drifting, no wheel vibrations
- comfortable interior/driving position, good shoulder & head room
- car is whisper quiet on smooth surfaces

Anyone else surprised by the lack of trunk space in the E series? The split fold-down in my A6 provides much more utility. I was shocked to see how small the trunk was in a new S series on the dealer floor...I expected something enormous like in the BMW 7 line.
The car seems to take medium size road imperfections with alot of noise (THUD!) and harshness, mostly from the rear. Is that normal?

Man, if you think the trunk is small, you should see my 'stang's! It's not that small, but the opening is so small it makes it pretty much usless...

Congradulations on your new E Class. I have an 01 E320 4matic which will turn 2 years old the end of Oct. Its been just excellent. Only one problem since new and that was it required a new fuel gage sending unit. Love driving the car. Wish my 02 ML500 was as good.
