sun sensor on dash - will a magnet next to it cause a problem
How does this sensor work? If I place a XM radio antenna (that is magnetic and designed to be mounted on the roof) next to it (in front of it) will it cause a problem with the sensor? I would think it is based on direct light or heat, but you never know.
I really don't want to put the magnetic antennae on my car's exterior...the car is in great shape - no scratches! I think the mount on the dash would work if it does not interfere with the other systems!
Any other XM installations? Thanks!

I had mine on the dash, and the reception was quite crappy, I ended up installing the antenna, on the roof right next to the drivers side a-pillar. You can run the wire inside the windshield gasket into the hood and through the cabin grommet. Very easy and looks neat.

The magnet should not damage or interfere with the sun sensor. It works by sensing radiant heat from the sun and a magnet should have no effect.
