extended warrantee
The company may be gone tomorrow, and if they aren't, you will typically encounter either pushback on any claim you submit, or an outright refusal to cover your submittal due to the numerous exclusions usually noted in the fine print.
Most of these outfits will instruct you to hand their phone number to the service writer (or other mechanic), who will stifle a laugh.
And finally, $3500 is ridiculous. Please skip this offer.
What is the mileage on the car, and who is selling it?
Sales from private owners and non-MB used car lots (if the original warranty is gone) will ensure that MB will not allow you to buy a MB extended warranty. The reasons may include:
To Starmark a car, a dealer will carefully inspect it to reduce the risk that something major will need to be fixed. The toads traded in get wholesale'd.
Non-MB used car lots take business away from the Certified, Pre-Owned MB lots, especially for good-condition cars.
In any case, MB will not seek you out to offer any coverage.
In the future, buy all the warranty when you acquire the car. That's my recommendation.
If you have "Western General" in the state of New Jersey, that company is large enough for me to consider it worthy of doing business with.
