Mirror Glass Backing plate
Does anyone know if the backing plate is available separately (Driver's side)? It seems the tabs that the mirror glass attaches too are broke off. The mirror glass itself is fine, short of one tab in the 10 oclock position is broken.

I am considering using high strengh velcro as an alternative attachment. Has anyone use something similar, such as double stick tape?

I had this broken once on a 2002 E320, had it replaced under warranty. Unfortunately for you, they had to replace the entire sun visor!

Just to clarify, I am speaking about the outside driver's side door rear view mirror.
