hood emblum
I bought a flat hood emblum to replace my star on my hood. I got it in the mail and it consists of the badge, a mount, and two white plastic sleeves as shown below

I cannot seem to get the white plastic sleeves into the mount. They just bend or curve and I just can't get them into the hole lol. am i putting it in wrong? Has anyone else had this problem? Also, do i have to use silicone adhesive under the emblum? will that mess up my paint if I were to switch back to the star some day?
